1. How to use NotOnlyRooms

1.1 Why place an ad?
Placing an ad allows you to be contacted by other Users who are looking for accommodation and so offering a room or any type of accommodation becomes easier. All users can contact you directly via the email form (maximum security and privacy).

1.2 How can I place an ad?
>From the homepage click on "Place Your Ad" or "Registration". This will take you to the "Registration" page where you will find several options. On the left you will find 2 options below "Are you a private user?" 1. I'm offering a room / accommodation to rent; 2. I’m looking for roommates or housemates / Looking for a room or accommodation. Select one of the 2 options then click the "Continue" button directly below the 2 options.
On the “Registration” page you will also find the option for Commercial Users - "Are you a commercial user?" - choose: I'm offering a room / accommodation to rent. Click the "Continue" button below "Are you a commercial user?"
In this way you can start your registration: you start by inserting your personal details and then you can go on to place your ads. Please note that if you are a real estate agent and / or a freelance professional and / or are VAT registered and / or etc ... acting as an intermediary or similar you must insert your Name and Surname and not the company name during registration.

1.3 How can I access my account?
Go to the homepage and at the top left-hand corner click on "Login". This will take you to "User Login" where you can insert your email address and password and so access your account page.
Please remember to pay attention to the Shift Lock key on your keyboard especially when you are writing in your password.

1.4 How often are ads updated?
The site is designed in such a way to allow users to personally manage their accounts. For this reason we recommend users to eliminate the ad once the request has been satisfied. However in order to avoid accommodation ads remaining on the site when they are actually no longer available, they are automatically deleted from the system after a period of inactivity.

1.5 I’m getting an error message, what do I do?
The site is built using programming language ​​and technology that has been tested on the most common web browsers and browser versions on the market today. We recommend users to keep their browsers updated in order to get the most from our website.

2. The ads
2.1 How can I modify my account?
Once you have logged into your account (Login: enter email address and password) this will take you to the "My Ads" section where you will find a list of all the ads that you have placed. Choose the ad that you wish to modify by clicking on "Amend Ad”. This will bring up all the information relative to it and just amend any that you may want to change.  To confirm, click on "Amend" at the bottom right-hand corner of the page.

2.2 Why do I have to go into detail when describing accommodation on offer?
Entering fuller details (description) gives users who are looking for a room or accommodation the opportunity to have more information making the accommodation on offer more attractive. Attaching more photos gives users a clearer idea of the accommodation on offer. Ads with a more accurate description and clearer photos receive more visits.

2.2.1 I am looking for a flat mate
As it is the quickest ad to place and there is no possibility of attaching pictures it is recommended that you give a full detailed description- type of room, description of the flat, what floor you are on, address, who you are, who your ideal flat mate would be, monthly rent, service charges and any other additional expenses together with at least some personal details such as your name, phone number or an e-mail address where you can be contacted.

2.3 How can I add a photo?
Once you have logged into your account (Login: enter email address and password) this will take you to the "My Ads" section where you will find a list of all the ads that you have placed. Choose the ad whose photo you want to modify by clicking on “Manage photos”. This will open up a new page with all the photos that you have included in your ad. You can change the first 3 photos of your ads with others that you prefer (please remember that it is compulsory to add at least 3 photos per ad) click on "File" and choose your new photo. You will then be able to modify or delete the next photos: to modify click on "File", but if instead you wish to delete the photo click on "Delete photo", written in red, the message "Photo deleted!" will appear. Once you have made the changes click on "My Ads" and this will bring you   to the main page of your account.
While registering and after choosing your photos wait until they have been completely and correctly uploaded before clicking on "Place Your Ad" in order to ensure that there are no technical problems.

2.4 How can I ensure that I have positioned my ad correctly on the map?
It is possible to see the accommodation address on Google Maps. In order to be properly located, you must enter the correct information: address, street number, post code and city. If this information is not entered properly the system will fail to locate the address correctly on the map.
New areas and buildings may not have been entered into Google's database. In this case it is recommended that you enter the name of the nearest main road in such a way that the system can identify it more easily on Google Maps.
Click on "Amend" at the bottom right-hand corner of the page whenever changes are made in such a way that the system can update the map.

2.5 How can I delete my ad?
Once you have logged into your account (Login: enter email address and password) this will take you to the "My Ads" section where you will find a list of all the ads that you have placed. Under each ad you will see "Delete Ad" written in red. Click on "Delete Ad" and you will see a window with the message “Are you sure you want to delete?” Click on "OK" and the ad will be permanently deleted with no possibility of retrieving it.

3. Communication between Users
3.1 How can I contact other users?
On the homepage after entering the information related to your search in "Looking for," click on "Search".  This will bring up all the pages where you will be able to see all the ads relative to your request.  Click on   "View Ad" and this will take you to the ad that you have chosen where as well as a description of the accommodation you will also find details regarding prices and period of availability. On this page you will find "Contact the landlord". You can then contact the landlord or by phone if he has given out a number or by email by filling out the email form (maximum security and privacy).

 

4. Fees and subscriptions
4.1 Is NotOnlyRooms free?
NotOnlyRooms is a free website. Finding accommodation and getting in touch with a landlord and/or an agency has never been easier, faster and completely free of charge!


5. Reserved Area - My Account
5.1 How many ads can I place?
A Private User can place up to a maximum of 5 ads. A Commercial User can place up to a maximum of 20 ads. Please contact us should you need any other specific requirements.

5.2 I have forgotten my password
>From the homepage  click on "Login" on the top left-hand side. This will take you to the "User Login" page.  On the right below the writing "Account" you will see a message " Forgotten  my password". Clicking on to this you will be given the possibility of entering the email address that you used during your registration from which you will then be sent instructions on how to obtain a new password (please note that NotOnlyRooms is not in possession of   your personal password).

5.3 How do I change my password?
Once you have logged into your account (Login: enter email address and password) this will immediately take you to "My Ads". On the right hand side below “Account "   you will see  “Change Password" and by clicking on it, it will take you to the page where you can change your password. Once you have entered in your new password click on the blue link "Change Password". At this point your new password is active.

5.4 How can I change my contact details?
Access your account (login: enter your email and password). Click on “My Details” which you will find on the right-hand side of the page and change your personal details. Please note that your first name and surname cannot be changed. Once you have made the necessary changes click on “Amend" on the bottom right-hand corner of the page.

5.5 How can I stop receiving promotional advertising?
Once you have logged into your account (Login: enter email address and password) this will take you to the "My Ads" section. On the right below “ Account "  you will see  “My Details", click on it and this will open up the page containing your personal details. Scroll down on your right to the privacy section and change your preference "I wish to receive promotional advertising" to no and then click on "Amend"..

5.6 How do I delete my account?
Once you have logged into your account (Login: enter email address and password) this will take you to the "My Ads" section. On the right-hand side below  “Account " you will see “Delete Account", click  on it and a window will open with the message " Are you sure you want to delete?”, click the "OK" button and a new window will open with a message "Account & AD deleted!": your account has been permanently deleted. When you delete your account   you also delete all your ads: all accommodation descriptions, photos etc…. they have also been removed from the system with no possibility of retrieving them.
